Did you know you live next door to something truly special?
That open patch of land near your home is part of a rare and ancient habitat, quietly thriving just beyond your doorstep. They were here long before cities, roads, or even humans.
Then, for over 60,000 years, native grasslands and grassy woodlands were cared for by First Nations peoples. In just over 200 years, most of these wonderlands were destroyed by development and farming.
Today only a small fraction of these precious landscapes remain. But you’re one of the lucky few who still live alongside them.
Whether you’re curious, concerned, or just want to know more, we invite you to reconnect with this overlooked treasure.
