Campaigning for nature is a process that takes time.

Whether it’s doing the appropriate research, organising community advocacy or lobbying government, VNPA campaigners are often working towards a goal many years into the future.

That’s why we established the National Parks Community Fund (NPCF) in 2020, with the exclusive purpose of keeping our national parks and protected areas safe for future generations.

With VNPA as the sole beneficiary, fund contributions by our generous donors are ethically invested by the Australian Communities Foundation, giving the organisation a growing, permanent and perpetual income source.

This gives us the confidence to remain fiercely independent advocates for nature in Victoria, taking on campaigns no matter how ambitious, long or hard they might be.

As the funds in the National Parks Community Fund grow, so does the impact we make with our work protecting nature in Victoria.

  • The National Parks Community Fund is a sub-fund of the Australian Communities Foundation, meaning that all funds are responsibly invested.
  • Donations to the National Parks Community Fund are tax deductible
  • Funds invested by the Australian Communities Foundation have historically returned 7 per cent per annum. This means gifts to the NPCF provide a long-term, sustainable source of income for VNPA.

How to donate

We recommend speaking with our Fundraising Team before contributing to the NPCF to discuss your intention.

There are a few ways that you can contribute:

  • Make a donation directly to the National Parks Community Fund via the Australian Communities Foundation website
  • Make a donation by EFT – please contact us for details
  • Leave a gift in your Will to the National Parks Community Fund

Make nature a part of your legacy

A gift in your Will to the National Parks Community Fund makes the ongoing protection of Victoria’s natural places a part of your legacy. It gives us the security to take on ambitious campaigns to protect the places we all love and and the wildlife that depends on them.

Alternatively, if you would like to see the impact of your gift grow over time, you might consider leaving a living bequest. This involves leaving a gift to the National Parks Community Fund during your lifetime that you might otherwise leave in your Will. This means you can see the size of that gift increase as it’s invested.
