Back in 1952 a group of people formed the Victorian National Parks Association as part of a successful campaign for a national parks system that would ensure the protection of our precious wild places.

Today, more than 1200 dedicated volunteers keep us running at every level, contributing an impressive range of skills and expertise.

Some of the ways our volunteers help protect and enjoy nature include:

  • Joining our monitoring programs NatureWatch and ReefWatch.
  • Becoming a bushwalking leader.
  • Getting involved with our council and committees.
  • Taking part in habitat restoration projects.
  • Helping with administration and office duties.

Some volunteers come into our office regularly. Others help out with specific projects or activities. There’s always something happening and always work to do, we appreciate any assistance people can give.
