Prior to embarking on an Environmental Effects Statement (EES) the Shire of Yarra Ranges (Local Council) has asked for submissions for changes to their proposed Mountain Bike Tracks around Warburton including inside the Yarra Ranges National Park running from the summit of Mount Donna Buang.

The Victorian National Parks Association supports Mountain Bike riding when managed effectively and done in an ecologically respectful manner, but cannot support the tracks with the Yarra Ranges National Park due to the damage to endemic species such as the Mount Donna Buang Wingless Stonefly and the Leadbeater’s Possum as well as Cool Temperate Rainforest.
