*Fully Booked out* Wild Families- Build your own insect hotel

Sunday, August 20, 2023 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free
Insects sitting on a flower

This activity is booked out.

Join other wild families to create your very own habitat for supporting native insects.

Most of our native bees, wasps, flies, and beetles live solitary lives, each specialising in building nests for their babies or hibernating during the cold season. Some native bees and wasps make nests in mud and soil, others in decaying wood and hollow reeds. They are fabulous architects, using straw and grass, petals or leaves, silk, mud or resin to seal up their nests.
By making a hotel that caters to their needs, these garden friends can help pollinate flowers and vegetables, eat pests, and be an important part of the food web.

This activity is tailored to families with children up to 12 years old and is a great opportunity to learn together. Children must attend with an adult responsible for their supervision.

All materials provided.

We will meet at the Harry Atkinson Art And Craft Centre in Coburg North.

Please register a spot for all adults and children attending this activity below.
