We’re surveying for Brush-tailed Phascogales and monitoring their forest habitat in areas scheduled for planned burns. We’ll assess fuel loads prior to burns, install wildlife cameras and measure habitat elements pre and post burn.
We hope to identify which planned burns have phascogales present to trigger the land managers to protect critical habitat elements.
After the burns we’ll assess if these actions successfully mitigated damage to phascogale habitat or if significant improvements are needed.
This event is being run by the NatureWatch Program.
