Melton roadside grasslands and Bush’s Paddock tour
Saturday, 21 October | 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeWe are starting at Ferris Road Grassland. To get there, put “204 Ferris Road, Cobblebank” into your maps app. Park on the mown grassy area on the western side of Ferris Road just north of the rail crossing. No coincidence this discrete pacth of grassland is next to a rail line, so many of our grasslands are.
We were going to see some great roadside grassland action at Mccorkells Road, Melton, but the CFA are burning it on the tour day so we’re cancelled that part of our tour!
From Ferris Road, we’ll continue on to the famous Bush’s Paddock. Simon Jolly will lead the tour.
Bush’s Paddock (also known as Mulla Mulla) has been a focus of community restoration efforts by Pinkerton Landcare and Environment Group for decades – and they have done a fabulous job – with Melton City Council now running management.
Remember to wear closed shoes, dress for the weather, and bring sunscreen and water.
This event is being run by the Grassy Plains Network. Please RSVP below.
