Grassland tour – Woorndoo

We were blown away by our visit to Woorndoo’s grasslands last year. Nothing beats these grasslands for outstanding interest. This overnight trip is worth the drive!

Come and spend the day looking at Woorndoo Common, the cemetery, and the fabulous roadsides of the Woorndoo area (near Lake Bolac). The Woorndoo Chatsworth Landcare Group are leading the way restoring and recreating roadside grasslands using scrape and sow – we’ll be checking some fine examples of that out too.

Stay for dinner and overnight to join us for more grassland action in the morning. You can camp for free by Lake Bolac, the motel in Bolac is fine, and there’s accomodation in Mortlake too.

On the way to Woorndoo on Saturday, we’re planning to stop at Rokewood Cemetery (TBC) which is also an outstanding grassland.
