Fisheries officers are the guardians of our ocean.
And their numbers are about to be slashed.
The Victorian Government are about to halve the number of fisheries officers from 73 to just 36. This will put vulnerable marine wildlife like Giant Spider Crabs and snapper at risk from illegal fishing.
It’s a disaster waiting to happen. It will significantly weaken protections for our precious marine sanctuaries and wildlife.
Ask your elected leaders to reverse these absurd cuts and prioritise protecting our marine habitats and wildlife.
