The community is resisting the push for commercial development in national parks.
National parks and conservation reserves are special places protected under law.
They cover 18 per cent of Victoria’s land area and 5 per cent of its coastal waters. They protect natural places for people and nature, and are important for recreation, tourism, carbon storage and keeping our air and water clean.
We work to protect existing parks from invasive pests, funding shortfalls, limited management capacity, inappropriate commercial development and climate change.
