Guided walk – Grantville Bushland Reserve

Sunday, 24 November | 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Join Save Western Port Woodlands for a guided walk at Grantville Bushland Reserve.

Jon and Ed will lead you into the ‘mystery reserve’ of the Western Port Woodlands, unknown, unloved and unvisited, even by most Grantville residents.

It deserves to be better known. On our first visit recently we counted more than 20 types of birds in half an hour. You’ll also find Rosy Hyacinth orchids, Chocolate Lilies, Cherry Ballarts and some beautiful old Messmates with hollows.

Join us for a short walk, about 2kms return, or turn back when you’ve had enough.

No need to book, just come along.

After your walk, you can head back to the Grantville Hall for a free concert featuring Australian ukulele master AJ Leonard and cellist Jenny Rowlands, bluesman Doc White, Tim O’Brien, Rick Sands from the Sand Brothers, and local acoustic trio Keachange.

Enter via Shackleford Rise, a short road off the highway, almost directly opposite the Grantville Hall. There is limited parking in Shackleford Rise so best to park on the highway or at the hall, unless you have small children or mobility issues.

Check the Save Western Port Woodlands page for more information.
