Submission: Draft Brolga Assessment and Mitigation Standards for Wind Energy Facilities

With the state government setting its Renewable Energy Target of 50 per cent by 2030 the need to start wind projects to meet this target is needed.

The state government through DELWP has proposed a planning amendment to help wind farm developers in the South West called the ‘Brolga Assessment and Mitigation Standards for Wind Energy Facilities’ (Draft Standards).

In its current form, the Victorian National Parks Association has concerns about the Draft Standards and the significant impact intensive wind projects will have on Brolga populations in the South West.
