The Andrews Government is late for a very important date. They must decide whether or not to create new park refuges for wildlife, nature and people – but they haven’t. We can’t let this opportunity to create the largest set of new national parks in a decade get away. Let’s show our elected representatives how many of us want to see greater protections for nature in Victoria.
Call the Deputy Leader now and ask him to support the Victorian Environmental Assessment Council (VEAC) recommendations.
- When you call, a staff member might answer the phone. You can talk with them and ask for your concerns to be passed on to Minister Merlino.
- Introduce yourself – your full name and the suburb you live in (be polite, they may be getting calls from others who don’t support national parks).
- Tell them why you called: to ask for the Deputy Leader’s support to create new national parks in the central west of Victoria. There are talking points to the right. It’s impactful to add your own personal touches, stories and connections.
- Thank the staffer for their time and for passing your concerns to Minister Merlino.
