Build your own insect hotel – Wild Families

Saturday, 24 August | 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Free

Join other wild families to create your very own insect hotel for your garden!

Most of our native bees, wasps, flies, and beetles live solitary lives. Some native bees and wasps make nests in mud and soil, others in decaying wood and hollow reeds. They’re fabulous architects, using straw and grass, petals or leaves, silk, mud or resin to seal up their nests.

By making a hotel that caters to their needs, these garden friends can help pollinate flowers and vegetables, eat pests, and be an important part of the food web.

This activity is suggested for families with children aged 5 – 12 years old. It’s a great opportunity to learn together.

Children must attend with an adult responsible for their supervision.

All materials provided.

We will meet at the Harry Atkinson Art And Craft Centre in Coburg North.
