VNPA’s submission into the draft Victorian Boating Strategy finds the strategy to be inadequate and inconsistent with the Marine and Coastal Policy and draft Marine and Coastal Strategy and we cover in more detail the following points:
- The strategy is inconsistent with the Marine and Coastal Policy and the Marine and Coastal Strategy
- Environmental impacts barely considered
- The strategy does not adequately consider Traditional Owner rights and obligations
- Management issues not addressed
- Exclusion of other foreshore and water users
- Inadequate stakeholder consultation
