Darebin Creek in Reservoir and Heidelberg West has some great grassy action along its length. Local resident and all-round grassland guru Lincoln Kern, from Practical Ecology, will show us:
• Open grassy woodland giant Red Gums where Narrap Rangers are implementing biodiversity offsets
• Banyule’s adjacent Northern Grassland Reserve with forb planting and direct seeding
• A cute little high-quality grassland with Matted Flax-lily protected by an engine block (!)
• Efforts to direct seed native grasses on a nature strip.
Bring closed footwear and appropriate gear for the weather and water/snacks as needed or desired.
