This 15km easy circuit is situated in the scenic Lysterfield Park in Melbourne’s south-east. There are some gentle undulations but nothing too challenging. A good opportunity to experience some peaceful walking close by to Melbourne. Parks Victoria have done an excellent job of isolating mountain bikers from walkers on most tracks.

Meet in Federation Square at 11am, in front of the stage, with BYO lunch. Walk down to the Yarra path to walk through Birrarung Park, enjoying the magnificent old gums and mature deciduous trees, planted by Melbourne’s forefathers. Continue to the Morrell Bridge and cross to the Botanic Gardens. Walk through part of the gardens and continue along the Alexander Parade side of the river, back to the city. A coffee somewhere.
