Many of these books are available for sale through our website, but we are also moving into digital publishing with the reprinting of Wyperfeld - Australia's First Mallee National Park, A History of Wilsons Promontory and Conservation Journeys - A short history of the VNPA.

In keeping with our ethos of sharing the joy Victoria's wild places bring us, these ebooks are available free of charge.


Building a National Parks Service for Victoria

Two years after the passing of the National Parks Act in the Victorian Parliament in 1956 Dr Len Smith became the Director of National Parks for Victoria.

He wanted to give Victoria a well-run National Parks Service, and national parks that would endure for all future generations.

Dr Smith remained in this position until his retirement in 1975 and has left a legacy of which all Victorians should be proud.

Wyperfeld - Australia's First National ParkWyperfeld - Australia's First Mallee National Park

The VNPA is proud to announce the re-release in electronic format of the comprehensive guidebook Wyperfeld - Australia's First Mallee National Park, by Geoff Durham.

First published in 2001 by the Friends of Wyperfeld, but out of print for several years, this meticulously researched book is now available free as an online flipbook, and you can print all or parts of it for reference.
