Victoria Naturally Alliance

The Victoria Naturally Alliance is a partnership of nine environment groups led by the Victorian National Parks Association and formed to work with government and local community groups to help solve the state's biodivesity crisis.

The State Government has responded to our concerns about Victoria's biodiversity crisis by launching the Land and Biodiversity at a Time of Climate Change White Paper, which is due for release in 2009.

The White Paper’s objectives are to:

  • Set the direction for Victorian Government policy and investment priorities in natural resource management, land health and biodiversity for the next two decades.
  • Consider how environment and natural resource management activity at the regional, catchment, local and farm scale, and on public land, is contributing to Victoria’s overall environmental health and economic and social wellbeing.
  • Make sure government policy and investment is responsive to new threats and opportunities.

The Victoria Naturally Alliance also includes the Australian Conservation Foundation, The Wilderness Society and Environment Victoria, Greening Australia (Vic), Trust for Nature, Bush Heritage Australia, the Invasive Species Council and Bird Observation & Conservation Australia.
