Reconnecting Victoria's Landscape Appeal
With climate change and a history of widespread clearing, Victoria's habitats urgently need our help. In Victoria we have lost at least half of our original native vegetation, and every year at least another 4000 hectares of bushland is lost. What's left of the natural vegetation is very fragmented. Loss of habitat is still happening and climate change will make this dramatically worse. It is easy to see how extensive our habitats used to be when compared with today, just click here. As you will see, the western and central regions of Victoria have been extensively cleared. Because of habitat loss, some 44% of our native plants and 30% of our wildlife species are now extinct or seriously threatened. | ![]() |
Our vision is 'reconnecting the landscape'. But we can't do it on our own. Please make a donation to help us to:
- Link the patchwork of habitats and small parks in Victoria.
- Work with scientists, on the ground with local groups, at a policy level by engaging with the highest levels of government, and directly with land managers, both private and public.
- Continue our leadership of the Victoria Naturally Alliance, a partnership of nine key environment groups working on 'reconnecting the landscape'.
You can play a part in this work. To do something long-term that is really significant for our precious natural environment, please donate now online (see below) or phone us on 03 9347 5188.
Your support will help VNPA's work reconnecting Victoria's landscape.
How to donate
All donations over $2 are tax deductible and can be made by two secure payment options:
