VNPA's 60th Anniversary Dinner
'Did you hear the silver chiming of the bell-birds on the range?' Did you know that by late autumn the Black Wallaby will migrate down Mount Buffalo to winter on warmer ground leaving the wombat king of the mountain's high plateaus, his castle a deep and cosy burrow? Did you know that within wading distance of the beach thar be dragons? Found in shallows, the female Weedy Sea Dragon will lay her eggs on the tail of the male, who will protect 300 eggs until they hatch. |
|
Did you know that the Golden Whistler is inquisitive, the White-browed Babbler quietly chuckles and the Bush Stone-curlew's mournful call haunts moonlit nights?
These are the wonders hidden in the nooks and crannies of our national parks, which in turn are the natural treasures the VNPA has worked so hard and for so long to protect.
And it's no wonder we have been successful -- you have been the hidden treasure behind our persistence, patience and thoughtful policy making.
Behind every national park are passionate people. Come celebrate with us
