Search and rescue

The VNPA is a member of Bushwalking Victoria, the federation of Victorian bushwalking clubs.

Through Bushwalking Victoria many of our experienced walkers volunteer as part of the Bushwalkers Search and Rescue (BSAR) squad.

BSAR members are experienced walkers who may be available on-call to help the Victoria Police Search and Rescue squad in missing person searches in difficult and sometimes extreme off-track situations.

BSAR training events are included in the activities program for BSAR members or for experienced walkers considering joining BSAR.
