Leadership

Leadership is of primary importance to the Bushwalking and Activities Group (BWAG), and good leadership is essential to the safety and enjoyment of our participants and leaders.

Our leaders undergo training and mentoring to ensure that a common philosophy and set of procedures are followed, aimed maintaining a high activity quality for our members and visitors.

The BWAG Committee provides a range of support for leaders. This includes committee members who coordinate mentoring, training, walks program development and the Emergency Contact system.

Other support includes insurance, briefing nights for new leaders, a leaders email group, leadership training weekends, navigation training courses, leader information mailouts, and trip planning nights.
