VNPA council

Structure of the VNPA

The VNPA is an incorporated association with membership open to all like-minded people. VNPA is governed by an Annual General Meeting elected volunteer Council or board which includes a President, two Vice-Presidents, an Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer and up to nine councillors. A small number of councillors are appointed each year due to their specialist expertise.

Council establishes policy guidelines, approves annual budgets and undertakes strategic planning for the association (see VNPA 2020). The Council also appoints the Executive Director and approves an annual organisational work plan which provides a clear statement of the VNPA's direction and priorities for the following twelve months. Council is also supported by a number of active sub-committees which harness the enthusiasm of members and staff on key areas.
Sub - committee’s include:

  • Finance Committee
  • Governance, Legal & Policy Committee
  • Conservation and Campaigns Committee
  • Marketing & Fundraising Committee
  • Bush Walking & Activities Group (BWAG)
  • Excursions Group
  • Education and Events Committee

The VNPA welcomes member involvement in the life of the association. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the Executive Director, via the office on 9347 5188 or vnpa@vnpa.org.au
